DM-Aid has joined NGO’s Branch organization (ISOBRO) membership from January 2012 - which is an umbrella organization for organizations of of our kind. Being joined as a member in ISOBRO is an appreciation of our work with aid relief and development, which we are proud of. There are a number of requirements that has to be fulfilled for an association to be registered in ISOBRO, but at the same time it also gives us a number of advantages. As a member of ISOBRO we could for instance have been a part of the great fund raising program on TV for the Horn of Africa. One important requirement is that we have to start charging membership fees. This condition make us keep the right of our members so they can withdraw contributions from their taxes by § 8A. Another benefit by this is that you as a paying member of DM-Aid will receive our newsletters and service letters by mail and you will also receive our annual and campaign leaflets by post. In addition, as a paying member you will also be invited to various lectures and events, which DM-Aid organize. Therefore, DM-Aid from 2012 will start charging an annual membership fee of 150 kroner.

We all know if we sleep well in the night, we wake up fresh in the morning. At Bachchon ka-Ghar orphanage in New Delhi, there are 120 boys and 80 girls, who until recently slept on mattresses that could hardly be called mattresses. When DM-Aid visited the orphanage in December 2011 we agreed that we would try to get decent mattresses for all the children so they could sleep well. We instantly bought the first 30 mattresses at a price of 200 kroner each, so as soon as we returned back to Denmark we started to raise up money to buy the remaining 170 mattresses.
As always, we have wanted to help the poorest and neediest in the world with good intension. The 10th of January we managed to raise enough money for 134 mattresses, so at this point we just need money for the last 36, so all the children can sleep well in the night and wake up fresher in the morning and be better to receive their daily schooling. Big thanks to all the donors who made it possible for us to buy the remaining mattresses immediately.
